Scarecrows in the Garden 2009

Here’s some pictures of a few of the cool and strange scarecrows that other people made. Mine was placed at the entrance as soon as everyone walked in!!! Schweet! Scroll down to the previous post to see my scarecrow. The whole event was really cool and I discovered a new beer that’s very tasty. It’s [...]

The Scarecrow Has Landed

I dropped off my scarecrow “Red Panda and Scared Crow” at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens yesterday. I have some pictures to share, of the process and the finished product.
First I created chicken wire skeletons to support the red panda, crow, and cupcake.

Ocean City Souvenir

Is it possible to draw flamingos, and not have the result look like a souvenir t-shirt, from Anybeachtown USA? I tried, and I think my friend Magicka Mike will appreciate the outcome.

Old World Monkeys

Drills.

Step 3 Painting Process: Finito el Krumo

Krum is done. I documented the progress of painting the beastie. You can see the changes as it progresses.
It’s good to be flexible while you’re working. I realized pretty early that his rear leg was too low. It’s better to pay attention to positioning and not be afraid to just paint over stuff as you [...]

A brief list:
The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art
Art Institute and Gallery in Salisbury Maryland
The Artist Guild of Northwest Georgia

My [...]

Painting Process 3

Here’s the 3rd installment of my painting process. Most of the background is in place and the carpet is finished.
Before

After

And here’s the carpet in real life.

I love it! It’s so old and pretty thin but I hope the mom-in-law never gets rid of it.
I adjusted the blue outlining as well. If I keep track [...]
